Glasgow’s Kained Group has joined Inch by Inch for Scotland.
The celebrated bar & restaurant group with a love for sustainable, ethically-sourced Scottish have now 7 restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The Kained Group started when 3 pals put their heads together and their hands to work. Graham, Mo & Scott started together and stuck together, creating an impact on the industry with their ethical and heartfelt approach to hospitality. Opening the doors to Lebowskis in 2007, the 3 Friends have stuck to their guns to bring ethical produce, community commitment, and innovative development across Glasgow and Edinburgh.
The Kained Group has supported Action for Children’s Yes Chef and Moving On programmes, and our very own Jordan Docherty has been taken on by the Group, along with Daniel McLaughlin. Both guys took part in the Yes Chef, 12-week programme. The programme works with young people recently released from short-term prison sentences to help rehabilitate them back into their local communities.
Jordan admitted that without the programme he’d likely be back in prison.
He said: “This is the most structure I’ve had in my life. I’ve not missed a single day, I’m here all the time and I love it. I’m meeting all these new people too, it’s brilliant.”
“At the time and place I was three months ago, I’d probably be back in prison.”
Scott Leask, Development Chef at Kained Group stated ‘What matters most to the Kained Group are our communities, our development and our honesty. Every restaurant and bar we open aims to integrate itself into the local community, engaging our customers and helping the local area. From this we strive to develop communities within ourselves, making each member of staff and customer feel involved. We’re super proud of our staff and we are delighted to support Inch by Inch for Scotland.
